Season three of Star Wars Rebels gets serious as they show us the backstory of everyone's favorite Mandalore, Sabine Wren. As one of the more interesting characters of the show, she finally gets the story and conclusion she deserves. But where does that leave the rest of the characters and what will happen in the rest of this season and in the newly announced fourth season of the show. Ron can only speculate but he feels that things are finally getting "real" for the once thought of kids show. Find out what else has been going on in this episode of SWDOG.

  • 205 - Maul Wound Up

    02/02/2017 Duração: 45min

The recent Star Wars: Rebels trailer shows that there may be a Maul vs Kenobi rematch on Tatooine. We've seen this before in Aaron McBride's non-canon comic "Old Wounds" from 2005's Star Wars: Visionaries (in which Kenobi somehow already has gray hair three years after Revenge of the Sith). Steve questions the logic of this story and whether or not we really need to see Maul have the same fate. He also wonders how the cancelled Darth Maul video game (concept art of which has recently been released) would have played out.

  • 204 - In the Shadow of Canon

    19/01/2017 Duração: 31min

In 2013, Dark Horse released In the Shadow of Yavin, the first arc of Brian Woods' comic series simply titled Star Wars. Envisioned as an easily accessible arc that would act as if it's 1977 and nothing other than the first movie is out, that concept is actually played loose, with this arc including stuff from post-1977 installments (Boba Fett, Death Star II, Coruscant, Chalactans, etc.). Hear Steve scratch his head over this sort of reboot (but not really) that came out not too long before the canon reboot!

  • 203 - Carrie'd Away

    14/01/2017 Duração: 30min

Last November Carrie Fisher released what would end up being her final memoir, The Princess Diarist. In it she talks about her time during the filming of the original Star Wars movie. The hype around this book was that she finally reveals the love affair she had with Harrison Ford but Ron finds that the other details about what it was like to be an unknown actor, making a small sci-fi movie, in the UK, in the 1970's even more fascinating. Sadly, Carrie Fisher suffered a fatal heart attack while promoting this book. Find out if this memoir is just as entertaining as her previous two.

  • 202 - Scar Issues

    12/01/2017 Duração: 43min

Steve reviews The Last Flight of the Harbinger, the latest completed arc of Jason Aaron's Star Wars comics. Though this story was expected to delve deep into the lives of stormtroopers, it instead ended up being another adventure focused mostly on the OT characters, this time stealing a Star Destroyer and having a juvenile race to see who becomes captain of it. (And it's canon! GASP!) All this and more in this granular review!

  • 201 - Valley of the Uncanny Dolls

    08/01/2017 Duração: 39min

Rogue One surprised us all when we saw a resurrected Peter Cushing and a young Carrie Fisher on screen again. Computer generated actors are something that Hollywood has been flirting with for a while but what are the ethics involved in using an actors likeness without having their actual permission. Is this something that we are going to see a lot of in future movies or is the technique going to be used sparingly? Join us as we give our thoughts on this movie magic.

    06/01/2017 Duração: 30min

Steve "Sheev" Shinder has caught up on some comics and talks about Kelly Thompson's Star Wars Annual 2.
